Professional Responsibilities (PR)
Standard PR 1: Record Keeping
Teachers track student progress toward meeting the standards (including indicators and benchmarks) and maintain instructional records that clearly show the basis for grade assignment. |

Track multiple and varied assessments for each student’s progress towards meeting the standards.
Standard PR 2: Family Involvement
Teachers inform the family about the academic/social progress of the student and the instructional program and encourage family involvement in the student’s education. |
PR 2.1 Feedback
- Communicate the results of assessments with students, parents, caregivers, colleagues, and administrators.
- Provide parents with meaningful feedback on how their children are progressing, which includes periodic comparisons with established performance standards.
PR 2.2 Collaboration with Families and Communities
- Develop positive and mutually supportive relationships with family and community members to achieve common goals for the education of students.
- Maintain a two-way exchange of information to obtain the insights of parents and to offer their own constructive suggestions to help students become better communicators.
Standard PR 3: Collaboration
Teachers establish and maintain professional relationships by engaging in discourse about professional issues with peers/teams, functioning as a member of an instructional team/department/ level, and participating in school events and district initiatives. |

Standard PR 4: Professional Learning
Teachers improve content knowledge and pedagogical skills by participating in professional development activities and applying what is learned. |

Regularly reflect on their own practice and seek to improve their pedagogy, using Implementation Guides and other forms of self-assessment to identify next steps for professional growth.

Act as members of professional learning communities, collaborating with others to strengthen instructional practice and improve student performance.

Stay current with relevant curriculum guides; local, state, and national standards; professional publications, and websites; drawing on such texts to improve their practice.

Take advantage of professional development opportunities, including workshops, classroom observations, team meetings, and strategy-sharing sessions with colleagues.

Are willing to try new teaching strategies that may improve the effectiveness of their instruction.

Participate in classroom visit exchanges with colleagues to learn/discuss/analyze new teaching strategies and their impact on student achievement.
