Mayerson Academy has been inspiring educators, organizations and communities to be their best for 25 years. That’s right—this year, we turn 25! As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we’re taking a look back – and forward – at our work and all of our amazing partners. As we search our memories, files, and photos, we are simultaneously humbled and exhilarated to see the long history of serving with excellence. Over the last three school years, Mayerson Academy has issued 282,123 contact hours, supporting educators’ ongoing commitment to professional learning.
Mayerson Academy supports an average of 594 classes each year, providing CPS employees with many opportunities to enhance their content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
Mayerson Academy has trained over 200 Northern Kentucky University staff members across 98 departments to appreciate their own and others’ strengths at NKU.
This year, Mayerson Academy supported the completion of 5 resident-led community improvement projects in Madisonville and engaged more than 200 community members to activate their strengths for community change through the Strong Cincinnati
Mayerson’s Thriving Learning Communities program – which applies the science of character strengths to improve students’ social-emotional learning competencies – reaches schools as close as 1.2 miles away from Mayerson to as far away as 6,815 miles away in Beijing.
Secretary of Education under President Bill Clinton, Richard Riley, visited Mayerson Academy in 1996.
Mayerson Academy, established in 1992, was the first Professional Development Center in Ohio.
Mayerson Academy has reached over ½ million students through the educators we support since our founding in 1992.
Mayerson Academy is the exclusive education partner of the VIA Institute on Character, an international thought leader on character.
In October 2016, Education Week magazine published a special report on Personalized Learning featuring Deer Park School District’s implementation of Mayerson Academy’s Thriving Learning Communities blended learning program.
Mayerson Academy reaches 4,000 students per year through our partnership with blended learning and gaming experts Happify. Through this partnership, we have developed an online micro-learning experience that gives students a “digital” platform to apply their character strengths while building social and emotional learning skills and digital citizenship all at the same time.
Mayerson Academy has trained more than 1,000 teachers in Greater Cincinnati and beyond through our internationally accredited Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Reading program.
In 2017, 760 school leaders on 5 continents participated in Mayerson Academy’s “5 to Thrive” campaign to transform school culture.
Mayerson Academy is collaborating with global leaders to convene a National Positive Education Summit in 2018.
Mayerson partners with more than two-dozen districts, higher-education institutions and education organizations to coach leaders, strengthen organizational culture, and develop innovative strategies.
Mayerson Academy was named a finalist for “Best Place to Work” by the Cincinnati Business Courier in 2015.

Mayerson Academy’s online Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Reading program is the 1st online program accredited by the International Dyslexia Association.
