Mayerson Academy’s Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Reading Card Deck is an ideal sound deck for both student use and teacher training. The cards are available in both a standard 4×6 size and a large 8.5×11 size perfect for classroom demonstrations.
The Orton-Gillingham grapheme and concept cards are organized into categories, including: consonants, single vowels, consonant digraphs, vowel teams, vowel + r, short vowel signals, VCe, suffixes and prefixes, rules and concepts.
The sounds for each grapheme are listed on the back of the card with example words and explanation. The cards also list common spellings for the same sound. All information is in an easily readable font size.
This super-sized deck is identical to the 4″x6″ OG Card Deck. The large format enables teachers to use the deck with a whole class or large group to introduce grapheme-phoneme correspondences and/or to do the Orton-Gillingham visual or auditory drills.
Mayerson Academy developed these card decks as a resource for teachers enrolled in the literacy courses offered through Mayerson Academy, including the Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Reading Program, accredited through the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).
