This week WCPO published a feature article about New School Montessori in Cincinnati (Lessons in Character Traits Gives New School Montessori Students Insight – and Builds Character) and the implementation of a character strengths program based on the Thriving Learning Community program developed by the Mayerson Academy.
“It was such a pleasure to introduce our Thriving program to the New School Montessori staff. They jumped right into the work, celebrating their own strengths and the strengths of their colleagues. From there they began finding ways to effectively use our curriculum in their warm, inviting and creative environment. In a recent visit, I was so touched listening to the staff and students. They have thoroughly embraced the character strengths work and integrated it into their curriculum, student reflection and celebration,” said Lynn Ochs, Senior Learning Designer for Mayerson Academy.
